FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:
Question: What is the max Weight per person?
Answer: Each obstacle can support up to 250 pounds, but each rung on the Rickety Bridge can support up to 250 pounds, so several kids can go on the bridge at once. The entire slackline itself can hold over 1000 pounds, so several kids can play on the set at once :).
Question: Can this be left outside or do you have to bring it in and set it back up when you want to use it again?
Answer: The set can be left outside for the season. During the winter months or other periods of time when it’s not going to be used for several months, it’s best to take it indoors and out of the elements. Setting it up for the first time is a bit time consuming, but then after that it can be taken down and put back up pretty easily.
Question: Is there a way to attach this in doors?
Answer: Due to the tremendous amount of horizontal force involved when you ratchet the line in place, we do not recommend indoor use or the use of man made posts instead of the trees.
Question: Can we install it on a metal or other pole if a tree isn't an option?
Answer: Due to the large amount of horizontal force involved once you crank the ratchet, I’m afraid we do not recommend the use of man-made posts in place of the trees :(.
Question: What is a good height for a tree?
Answer: When setting the height of a line, a rough estimate is to take the height of your shortest ninja and add about 3 1/2 feet. The 3 1/2 feet is to account for length of the obstacle, arm length, and line sag. The trees should be at least 1 foot in diameter at the point of line attachment :)
Question: How far apart should my trees be?
Answer: We recommend a minimum tree distance of about 15 feet, to avoid crowding of the obstacles. For sets with our 80 foot line, trees can be no more than about 35 feet apart. For sets with our 110 foot line, trees can be no more than about 50 feet apart. Maximum tree distance will vary a bit depending on the girth of your tree trunks.
Question: How big can my tree trunks be around?
Answer: We recommend a minimum tree trunk diameter of about 1 foot at the point of line attachment (about 3 feet in circumference). As far as the maximum tree trunk size, there is really no limit. With our unique design, our sets can be installed on even the most ginormous of tree trunks!
